Cazoo Cars for Sale

"Cazoo does not deliver or even sell cars." That sentence appears on Cazoo's own about page, and it is the quickest route to understanding why almost everything written about this brand before 2025 is now a poor guide to what you will find.
The Cazoo that sponsored football shirts bought cars outright, reconditioned them in its own centres, delivered them on a transporter and offered a seven-day money-back guarantee. That operation consumed more than £400m and went into administration in early 2024. MOTORS bought the brand name out of the wreckage in June 2024 for around £5m. It bought the name, not the machine.
What wears the badge in 2026 is a classified marketplace: 300,000+ cars listed monthly from 6,000+ dealers, relaunched in April 2025 with over 250,000 listings, app first and website second. The legal entity is Motors.co.uk Limited, trading as Cazoo, and since 27 May 2026 it is the group's only consumer-facing brand.

What you are actually buying from in 2026
Every car on Cazoo belongs to a dealer. Cazoo takes no ownership, holds no stock, runs no preparation centre and arranges no delivery. Your contract of sale is with the franchised or independent retailer whose forecourt the car sits on.
That distinction has practical consequences. The seven-day returns promise, the standardised 90-point check and the fixed no-haggle pricing that defined old Cazoo are gone with the company that offered them. Warranty length, part-exchange terms, admin fees and whether the price is negotiable are now set individually by whichever of the 6,000+ dealers you contact — and they vary enormously between them.
Cazoo's own research puts spontaneous brand awareness among UK used-car buyers at roughly 60%, which CEO Barry Judge has used to claim second place behind Auto Trader. That awareness is inherited from the failed retailer, and it is worth being blunt: a large share of the people who recognise the name recognise it for services the current business does not provide.
300,000 listings a month, and where they come from
The monthly listing figure is genuine scale — comfortably the second-largest pool advertised by any provider in this comparison, behind Auto Trader's 457,000 average live cars. Depth of stock is the real argument for using Cazoo.
Search, saved searches and enquiries cost the buyer nothing. The revenue comes from dealers, who pay for placement across the group's advertising network rather than for a single site.
The relaunch sequence matters if you are choosing a device. Cazoo rebuilt as an app first in April 2025, with the website following. If a feature seems missing on desktop, checking the app before concluding it does not exist is usually worth the two minutes.
Finance is brokered to CarMoney, not funded by Cazoo
Cazoo acts as a credit broker, not a lender. Finance enquiries are passed to a third-party lender, CarMoney Limited. Cazoo does not underwrite, does not hold the agreement and is not the party you would complain to about the loan.
Two things follow for anyone comparing monthly payments:
- The APR you are quoted is CarMoney's, subject to its own credit assessment and pricing — check current rates with the provider before you commit, as no headline rate is published on a fixed basis.
- Dealer-arranged finance on the same car may come from a different lender entirely. Getting both quotes on the same vehicle is the only reliable way to see which is cheaper.
Broker commission arrangements should be disclosed to you in writing before you sign. If they are not, ask.
The protection gap most buyers do not spot
When a marketplace introduces you to a dealer, the Consumer Rights Act protections you rely on run against that dealer, not the marketplace. A car sold by a VAT-registered trader must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and you have short-term rejection rights if it is not — but you exercise those against the seller.
Cazoo is not a party to your purchase and cannot refund you. If the selling dealer folds, ceases trading or simply refuses to engage, the marketplace has no fund standing behind the transaction. This is normal for classified sites and identical at Auto Trader, but it is a genuine step down from the old Cazoo model that many returning users still assume is in place.
Practical mitigations: pay any deposit by credit card so Section 75 may apply, check the dealer's own returns and warranty terms in writing before travelling, and take an independent inspection on anything expensive.
The same car, five times, on five websites
Cazoo sits inside an advertising network in which one dealer invoice buys placement across MOTORS, eBay, Gumtree, Cazoo and Parkers. Dealers like it because the average car buyer visits 4.2 websites during a search.
The consequence for you is duplication. A car you spot on Parkers, a car you spot on Gumtree and a car you spot on Cazoo may be one physical vehicle advertised three times. Cross-checking those sites will not widen your choice the way cross-checking Cazoo against Auto Trader or Carwow will, because those two are genuinely separate inventory pools.
Where it wins
- 300,000+ cars listed monthly from 6,000+ dealers — the second-deepest pool among the sites compared here
- Completely free for buyers to search, save and enquire
- Relaunched app is the primary product and is genuinely well built for phone-first searching
- Very high name recognition (~60% spontaneous) means most dealers are already on it
- Backed by an established owner, O3 Industries / Novum Capital, rather than venture funding that needs constant replenishment
Where it falls short
- The brand no longer offers home delivery, a money-back guarantee or its own reconditioning — returning users regularly expect all three
- Cazoo is not a party to your purchase, so all consumer redress sits with the individual dealer
- Finance is brokered to CarMoney Limited, so rates and decisions are outside Cazoo's control and are not published as headline figures
- Listings duplicate across Gumtree, eBay and Parkers, which inflates the apparent size of the market you are searching
- Buying standards vary dealer by dealer — no group-wide inspection, warranty or pricing policy replaces the old retail model
Common questions
Does Cazoo still deliver cars to my door?
No. Home delivery ended when the original Cazoo retail business went into administration in early 2024. The current site states plainly that Cazoo does not deliver or sell cars — it introduces you to a dealer, and any delivery arrangement is negotiated with that dealer directly.
Is the seven-day money-back guarantee still available?
No. That guarantee belonged to the old retail operation and did not transfer with the brand name. Some individual dealers offer their own returns policies, but there is no group-wide equivalent, so you need to check the terms in writing before you buy.
Who lends the money if I take finance through Cazoo?
Cazoo is a credit broker and refers customers to CarMoney Limited, a third-party lender. The rate and the decision are CarMoney's, not Cazoo's. Check current rates with the provider and compare them against the dealer's own finance quote on the same car.
Why do I keep seeing the same cars on Gumtree and Parkers?
Because they are the same stock. One dealer advertising package covers MOTORS, eBay, Gumtree, Cazoo and Parkers, so a single vehicle appears on all of them. To genuinely widen your search, compare against Auto Trader or Carwow, which run separate inventory.
Is Motors.co.uk the same company as Cazoo?
Yes. Motors.co.uk Limited bought the Cazoo brand in 2024 and retired its own Motors brand on 27 May 2026. motors.co.uk now redirects to cazoo.co.uk.
Our verdict
Cazoo suits a buyer who wants a big, free, phone-friendly classified search and is comfortable doing their own diligence on the selling dealer — checking its warranty terms, its trading history and the car itself. It is a reasonable second search to run alongside Auto Trader. It does not suit anyone who came here because they remember Cazoo delivering a checked car to the door with a no-quibble return window; that business closed in 2024 and nothing on the current site replaces it. Anyone who wants the marketplace itself to stand behind the transaction should buy from a franchised dealer's own approved-used programme instead, where the manufacturer's scheme provides the guarantee.
Figures were taken from each provider's own published terms on 15 August 2026. Variable rates can change at any time — confirm the current rate with the provider before applying.
